5in5 Song #4 “You Are God”
Late? Yes. But here now! A couple of notes. I got really frustrated with this one. I had decided that I wanted to do one in 6/8. So I was stuck. Words were tricky because all of a sudden I started rhyming everything. All of a sudden I couldn’t think of words to rhyme with “shout for joy” except for ships ahoy or oh boy or (my favorite) I need a toy. I had to go to bed and look at it with fresh eyes in the morning. The second verse and bridge came easy this morning! yay! Thank you Dan, seriously, for hosting this!
And the image? Yeah, just imagine me in a field playing the guitar. I think this song needs guitar and I wasn’t in the mood to learn it last night like Ruth did! ha!
You are God CLICK HERE!
You are God, You are King
You alone are my everything
And I lift my hands, lift my voice
You changed this lifeĀ so I have a choice
You are God
You are God
You captured me, set me free
Changed my life eternally
I want to dance, want to shout
Clap my hands and just let it out!
Bridge (yay I figured out how to do one finally!)
Holy King, Makes me sing
Captured me, Set me free!
I am a wife, a mom and I am a creative. I am the producer of a weekly TV show for our local church and I truly love my job. I also teach music at our private Christian School. I enjoy learning how to be a wife and a mom that honors Jesus and points my children to Him. Everywhere I look I am learning to find joy in the unexpected!
Way to work through it! : ) I like 6/8 songs, so I’m glad you went that direction. My favorite is the “captured me, set me free” line – what a great paradox!
ooo Felicity, coming from a writer that is such a great compliment! I do like that line…makes me smile everytime I think of it!
Good job! The tag is really catchy.
I laughed about the rhyming thing because I can get stuck there, too. Or like last night, when I said to Jason, “I don’t know what this line is, but I think it should end in the syllable ‘ay.’” Bahaha!
Love it! ha!
Great, Eliza! This is so cool that you’ve never written before and now you have four songs – and they’re awesome! These words are all the kinds of things I love to say when I want to praise God. Love it!
Thank you Ruth!
